Bio
Dr. Edwin Wong is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health at the University of Washington and a Core Investigator at the Center for Veteran-Centered and Value-Driven Care within the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. Dr. Wong is a health economist and health services researcher with a diverse portfolio of federally funded research. His work applies big data analytics to address questions in four key areas: 1) understanding economic and policy factors influencing healthcare utilization and costs, 2) examining the economic implications of large-scale health system interventions, 3) assessing the economic burden of chronic disease and 4) developing novel methods applications to improve measurement of health system performance. Dr. Wong also serves as a mentor to numerous graduate students, and postdoctoral and clinical fellows. Dr. Wong received his BS in Computer Science from Texas Christian University, and his MA and PhD in economics from the University of Washington.
