Overview

Data alone ≠ insight, but there is little insight without data.

We curate and provide data to Department of Medicine members as resources for generating insights about health systems-related issues. Depending on a requester's particular needs, we can also assist individuals and with data management needs to organize data for the purposes of evaluation and analysis.

NationAL ambulatory medical survey

The National Ambulatory Care Survey (NAMCS) dataset contains information on the utilization of ambulatory medical care services from non-federally employed office-based physicians. It is conducted annually by the National Center for Health Statistics and is part of the National Health Care Surveys measuring health care utilization across a variety of health care providers. The data are collected directly from physicians regarding facility and visit characteristics, including medications prescribed. The data are derived from a sample of visits as opposed to individuals.
