Bio

Dr. Jennerich is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine and a Faculty Member in the Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence at the University of Washington. She completed her undergraduate education at Millsaps College and then earned her MD from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. After completing residency in internal medicine at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, including a year as Chief Resident, she began her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Washington. During her fellowship, she obtained a Master of Science in Epidemiology in the UW School of Public Health. Currently, she works as a physician-scientist at Harborview Medical Center, where she attends in the medical and neurocritical care ICUs. Her research focuses on the quality of care and communication provided to seriously ill patients and their family members, with a specific interest in transitions of care. Her work is supported by an R01 from NIH NHLBI and focused on understanding of the factors and associated mechanisms underlying unplanned ICU admissions and how different contributing factors relate to patient- and family-centered outcomes.
