David Au, MD, MS is Director of the Seattle Denver Center of Innovation for Veteran-Centered and Value-Driven Care (COIN), Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Washington and Deputy National Executive Director with the National Pulmonary and Critical Care Program Office. He has a long interest in improving delivery of care to patients with COPD and lung cancer and improving the reach of specialty care medicine, especially at the population level. His program has a strong emphasis in facilitating delivery and quality of care in the outpatient setting and in the primary care environment where quality of lung disease care is consistently poor. He has led a number of initiative to improve access and quality of healthcare delivery in both research and operational projects.
